FREEDOM. A word that dominates and reigns above all others around this time of year. We have celebrations and parties, but do we ever stop to think about what we really have and why we have it?
Freedom has a price tag attached. It's like a never ending debt we will never be able to pay off. We can't just buy our freedom with cash or credit, we have to continue to fight for it.
Our military does a prominent job at keeping our country safe. Many have paid the ultimate price for our country to keep us out of harm, free, and united. As John 15:13 states, "Greater love hath no man than this, than a man lay down his life for his friends" (KJV).
There is a related story in the Bible where a man named Jesus laid down His life for His friends, family, enemies, and people who weren't even born yet like you and me. Why? Because He knew that the world was full of sin and the blood of lambs as sacrifices wouldn't cover the cost for all the sin. He knew He had to pay the ultimate price for He was God's Son.
Reality: God LOVES you, regardless of what you have done. He forgives AND forgets.
He sent His son to die for you to make you FREE from sin and its bondage. "In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him." -1 John 4:9 (ESV).
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 KJV
What we need to realize as humans:
Romans 3:23 NKJV – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:10 NKJV – As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;
Romans 5:12 NKJV – Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned–
Romans 6:23 NKJV – For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God [is] eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
How do we receive the FREE gift of God?
Romans 10:9-10 NKJV – that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Yes, God heard you...
Romans10:13 NKJV – For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
This gift from God=ETERNAL, EVERLASTING, FOREVER life with Christ in Heaven. How amazing is that!!??
As Americans we are "one nation under God". We need to bring our nation back to God.
